Alan Kumamoto is a founding partner of Kumamoto Associates, a marketing, management and communications general partnership. He conducts leadership workshops and capacity building seminars for national and international clients. His career spans work in business, government, and nonprofit organizations. He was President and Executive Director of the Center for Nonprofit Management, a Trainer for the Grantsmanship Center, a Consultant with the Los Angeles County Human Relations Commission, an Executive for the National YMCA – National Youth Project Using Minibikes, National Youth Director for the Japanese American Citizens League, Steel Representative for Mitsui & Co, Ltd.
Alan is an elected Board member and officer of the City of Los Angeles, Historic Cultural Neighborhood Council, a Board member and Strategic Planning Task Force, Chair of the Fulfillment Fund, founding Board Chair of the Youth Opportunities United, a Member and Board officer of the Little Tokyo Community Council, a former Board Chair, 50th Anniversary Chair of the National Council for International Visitors, Community Resource for the International Visitors Council of Los Angeles, and serves on the Boards of the Heart Mountain Wyoming Foundation, California Council for Economic Education, Japanese American Community Services, and several others.
